A self-employed program is designed to attract all those applicants who are willing to become self-employed in Canada. Self-employed persons who intend to live in Quebec are not eligible under this program, and they need to apply under Quebec self-employed program.

To qualify for this program, applicants must have the relevant experience, intention & ability to either create a significant contribution towards cultural or sporting life in Canada. If he can purchase & manage a firm in Canada, he can qualify for the program!! They can contribute as artisans as athletes at the international level.

Relevant experience is generally defined as:

The applicant needs to have at least a couple of years of experience in cultural activities or sports at the world level.  One needs to have at least a couple of years of experience of self-employment in cultural activities or athletics. Even at least two years of farm management can work for you.

Selection Factors-

Once the applicants are found to meet the definition of ‘Self Employed Person’, applicants will be assessed based on the selection criteria. Applicants need to earn a minimum of 35 points out of 100 potential issues if they want to immigrate to Canada as self-employed individuals.
